If Denver is the Mile High City then Breckenridge, at an altitude of 10,000 feet, is virtually the Two Mile High City, although it’s probably technically a town. The coach ride up into the Rockies was very scenic. Breckenridge or Breck, as everyone around here calls it (and is easier to type), is one of the top ski resorts in Colorado. During the summer there’s also plenty to see and do, such as mountain biking, hiking, fishing, white-water rafting and so on.

There’s a cracking hostel here, in one of those cosy wooden cabins. The facilities are more on par with a fancy ski lodge with its hot tub, balcony with mountain views, log fire, cooked breakfast, etc.

Breckenridge is a lovely town with a nice laid back skiing sort of vibe. During the late afternoon/early evening there are loads of happy hours with plenty of beer garden action where you can relax and enjoy the nice views. It seems like a nice pace to life around here.

Nice ride here
Main Street, believe it or not the main street!
